If you can?t beat them, join them
Competing in the Michelin Porsche Open double-header event at Snetterton last weekend [2/3 August] Henry Firman drove his 993 hard to take a creditable 4th and 2nd place in Class 3, but he couldn?t find the pace to beat Team GVR?s Peter Morris who took a double Class win.
Firman has now brought his 911virgin.com sponsored 993 to be prepared by Gordon Wardle at Team GVR and is hoping that some of the cars handling problems can be sorted out in time for the next event at Pembry in a couple of weeks time.
?Henry has huge potential? comments Wardle, ?he just needs the car to be right and I?m sure he?ll exploit it. I believe Team GVR can bring out the best in the car and driver?.
Firman?s car was originally built for David and Godfrey Jones by Wardle when he was working for Team Eurotech and the car competed successfully in the Porsche Cup during 1996 and ?97.
